Partner

Steven Boening’s practice focuses on rendering oil and gas title opinions in the Permian Basin. He also advises oil and gas operators on complex title matters and lease reviews, specializing in retained acreage and depth severance analysis.

A Field Landman Background

Before practicing law, Steven spent over seven years working in the courthouses of the Permian Basin as an independent petroleum landman. In addition to independent title examination, he led teams of field land professionals during long-term leasing projects. That on-the-ground experience created the foundation for Steven’s pragmatic oil and gas title opinions.

A Depth of Permian Experience

Steven has authored over one hundred oil and gas title opinions covering the Permian Basin. This experience has given him the opportunity to review novel and complex title issues while continuing to study emerging oil and gas law. He believes that a quality title opinion is tailored to the preferences of each client and provides succinct, practical curative solutions.
